Day 12 and Day 13

Day 12 : May 26 and Day 13 : May 27

Uneventful again except for some of the usual drama that is so part of my life. We forget to do major things which cause major losses and major heartbreak and its because we are too busy to have remembered to do things. Just like that.

Lesson learnt: Being upset with life and wondering what might have been is not going to get me anywhere. Interviews are for a purpose. They select you for a position or job. But you need to go all prepared to the interview. You need to have all your documents ready and in hand. Now trying to sort how to get out of this tangle. Seems like storm after storm is hitting us or is it just one storm ?Most of the drama does not unfold in front of me.

May 27

Its Sunday- should be a free day but it was eventful as well. At work, they decided on the date to take me out to lunch as I am leaving. A lot of people are asking my supervisor about my job- is it up for hire or is it going to be closed ? No one knows.

Our main campus of the university is the main administration for our university. Our university is just there but everything goes through the main university. Eg : any research funding decisions or human subjects decisions.

Inevitably, there is a delay because of all the middle-players in this game. To do research can take up to a year of administrative processing. Who knew ?

  1. Well, sometimes you don’t know until you take the plunge. I remember leaving a job and signing up to teach with the Abu Dhabi Education Reform. The job happened for me with the processing quickly as the interview was in May in Atlanta and then by July, I was in place: oh except because of a storm I missed the first flight and had to wait a month until the next group went over. But I heard that the early groups of which I was part (year 2) went well and the later groups people quit jobs, sold houses, and then waited 6-9 months to go. Sometimes you don’t know but we are hoping for the best for you.

  2. It may have been best to have waited and that things turned out the way they did as the first group was mass confusion with teachers from all over the world and lots of waiting time before school began. It was definitely “survival of the fittest” with heavy competition for the best apartments and cliques formed quickly. In retrospect, I am glad I missed the first wave and caught the second. Things tend to work out this way for a purpose.

      1. I am not sure. I was telling my husband about this and you know he thought they might be sending message to one another through blogs. I had some unpleasant bloggers with questionable material following me, so I blocked them. Sounds like spy stuff but who knows.

      2. I thought it would be an interesting way for my characters in my thriller to relate to one another. If you check your spam comments, you might some strange stuff! Enjoy your time.
