About me

More about me

I found it really difficult to write an ” About me’ page. For I am basically shy you see and am constantly worried about whether someone who knows me in real life would identify me and whether I will be socially outlawed- so I kept it very simple and non-offensive.

I would love to write about the problems I had at the workplace, workplace bullying, my reading habits, my job problems, the times I am criticized but feel I was not in the wrong and so much more but I know most people will not be interested in reading my rants unless they are written with self-depreciating humor- so I guess, other than some hints, I will not be going there.

I found it hard to leave out facts about my innate honesty and perhaps strictness with regards to rules, which makes me judgmental at times. There are always negatives to every positive trait one has.

I would like to learn more about crochet and crocheting projects as I blog( I wish there were more blogs to connect with which focused on crocheting), about how people dealt with workplace bullying in a multi- racial, multi- ethnic, multi- cultural environment, so I could improve myself and finally, I would like to blog and learn more about myself- what are the things I like to keep secret, what things do I run away from, how I would react if I was put in various situations and so on.
Blogging U.

  1. Argh! I had a whole comment typed out and lost my connection.

Anyway, I know I’m horrible at writing about pages, my sister is an amazing crocheter or whatever the word is, and I love learning more about myself through blogging. 🙂

  2. Well expressed. Good effort. All we would say, if we wish to improve ourselves, we would first have to know that we are not inferior to anyone. Let strong positive thoughts about you come to the forth and that itself would act as a weapon to face the negative energy around you. We all are unique in our own way. Aren’t we? Let us appreciate ourselves. 🙂

  3. My motto is NEVER give in NEVER give up. I am on long term disability now due to health issues but it does make it hard to deal with discrimination at any time anyplace. “The old boys club” which is how i thought of my situation at work. Even wearing a tie didn’t help. You are obviously on a journey of discovery keep it up . I enjoy hearing all your positive discoveries. The negative ones too because life needs both..

  4. In my opinion you shouldn’t worry if some you know finds your blog and socially outlaws you. Just remind that them that you have the right to express yourself. Look forward to reading more about the problems at work, but remember that sometime you need to take a stand against bully or whatever the situation may be. Some time I think I get pick on at work just because I look young and shy and so it look like I might not say anything, but I do response back vocally and in a professional manner.

  5. Hey susieshy45,
Regardless of you fears (which I also have), great that you started blogging.. Whenever you feel it’s not your cup of tea, do check your number of likes 🙂 We all are liking you dear!
As for workplace issues, remember self-respect is above everything! Once people know you wouldn’t compromise on that, they wouldn’t dare to come your way..
Hope to see more posts from you! 🙂
    good luck

  6. I would be more than willing to provide you with any questions or information regarding your workplace issues!!!!
My case against a former employer was for something ongoing harmful conduct verbal attacking, torment, over a few years and more (I can’t be too specific because the settlement required confidentiality regarding the settlement.)
What is really important that I want people to know Is I was repeatedly told the conduct was nothing being done wrong and I should just let it go. This was told to me by the company HR department. &&&&& also several (20+) attorneys I inquired with said that I had no case no misconduct was evident from any references (I had kept a lot of records very good with that)
So even with all of these attorneys telling me there was no misconduct of course I was doubtful, and considered dropping it many times. But, just kept calling and my persistence eventually found an attorney that was able to clearly see misconduct I was referring to has been clearly violated. Turned out to be very clear cut case to prove and undeniable by the company

SO CLEAR IT WAS NOT EVEN ATTEMPTED BY THEM TO CHALLENGE THE GUILT! (SAME EVIDENCE THAT WAS SAID BY ALLL THE ATTORNEYS HAD NO CASE)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THIS HOPEFULLY CAN BENEFIT ANYBODY IN A SITUATION LIKE THIS OR RELATE TO GIVING UP AND THIS SHOWS NOT TO – DON’T GIVE UP OR BE PERSUADED INTO THINKING THAT WHATEVER BEHAVIOR, CONDUCT, OR CONCERNS ARE NOT VALID OR WORTH PURSUING BASED ON WHAT YOU’VE BEEN TOLD EVEN IF IT’S BEEN BY MULTIPLE ATTORNEYS!!!!

SEE HOW MANY DIFFERENT LAWYERS I CONTACTED TELLING ME I HAD NOTHING AT LEAST 20 OR MORE ATTORNEYS THAT SAID THERE WAS NO CASE, NOTHING WORTH ——- BEFORE ONE RECOGNIZED RIGHT AWAY CLEAR LEGAL VIOLATIONS WHAT I KNEW/BELIEVED WAS WRONG DOING. THIS WAS MANY YEARS AGO BUT I WOULD HAVE CALLED MORE LAWYERS OR WHOVER EVEN IF IT MEANT REPRESENTING MYSELF I WAS GOING TO MAKE SURE THIS WAS HEARD! ANYONE INVOLVED IN ANY SITUATION LIKE THIS HAS ALREADY BEEN VICTIM ONCE, AND YOU WILL BE A VICTIM AGAIN BY NOT PURSUING JUSTICE, AND HAVING THE CONCERNS HEARD REGARDLESS ON THE OUTCOME. I CAN ASSURE YOU IF YOU LET IT GO NOW IT WILL BE WITH YOU FOREVER!!!! NOT GETTING CLOSURE. –

THERE WERE PLENTY OF TIMES WHERE I WAS READY TO GIVE UP AND BELIEVE THAT I HAD NO CASE, (IF THAT MANY LEGAL PROFESSIOONALS WERE TELLING ME THAT, IT MUST BE TRUE- AND WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO FIND A ATTORNEY TO PRESENT IT. THAT’S WHEN THE DRIVE TO HAVE THIS BROUGHT TO JUSTICE TOOK OVER IN SOME KIND OF WAY I CAN’T EXPLAIN OTHER THAN NOTHING WAS GOING TO STOP ME FROM HAVING THIS HEARD AND ANSWERED TO OFFICIALLY. BELIEVE IT OR NOT IT DID NOT EVEN MATTER IF THEY WERE GUILTY, OR HOW MUCH MONEY WAS INVOLVED!!!!!! I JUST WANTED TO BE POINTED OUT NOT A SILENCE VICTIM

VICTIMS WOULD UNDERSTAND THIS. THE PRICELESS REWARD/VALUE BEING GRANTED THE POSITION TO BE HEARD AND HAVE THE ACCUSED PROVIDE ANSWERS, EXPLANATION, DEFENSE AND YOU ARE ABLE TO STAND UP AND ASSERT INQUIRY INTO THIER BEHAVIOR INSTEAD OF “JUST DROPPING IT” DON’T MAKE YOURSELF BECOME A VICTIM AGAIN BY LETTING GO. I REALLY HOPE THIS IS A REFERENCE TO SHOW YOU THAT WHATEVER AMOUNT OF PEOPLE, LAWYERS, FRIENDS OR ANYBODY TELLING YOU DIFFERENT STOP YOU FROM GOING AFTER SOMETHING YOU FEEL TO BE. 20 SOMETHING LAWYERS TELL ME NO CASE TO THE ONE ONLY LOOKING AT IT FOR QUICK SECOND AND SAID THIS WAS AN EASY CASE SERIOUS SUPPORTING EVIDENCE.

ANY VICTIM SHE NEVER HAVE TO WORK THAT HARD TO FIND SOMEBODY TO PRESENT THEIR CASE, BUT THIS SHALL NOT PREVENT ANY PERSON WHO FEELS THAT ANOTHER HAS VIOLATED LAW, OR ANY ACTION THEY WANT ANSWERED HAS THE RESPONSIBILITY TO DO SO WITHOUT QUITTING. GO AFTER JUSTICE YOU DESERVE

  7. Dear Jedi,
Thank you for the long and involved reply and you are right we need to pursue this and not stand for any type of bullying- workplace or otherwise. I would love it if you could make a post of it and post it on your site because creating awareness is very important in such cases.
I am pursuing it but the surprising thing is retribution has come to many ( and there were many involved) in some form or the other. I thank you for your support and kindness.
    God bless.

  8. Welcome to blogging! I’m also new, but then each and every one had their own first day at it – hope we shall reach somewhere, after all :). I like the idea that you intend to discover yourself through your blogging: most people don’t even think that there ‘s anything to discover: don’t they know themselves??

It’s also interesting that you also care about other people’s experiences having racial, gender, cultural, religious, or whatever other reason, for having had their own harsh experiences at work. It’s even greater if you want to share: as you know but well, some -primitive – employers really believe that they bought themselves some device to discharge their own emotional garbage into their souls in exchange for their wages. The thing that they forget, though, is that it is them who benefit from your skills and competence to make their enterprise keep going. Time has come that this issue gets to be openly discussed and exposed out in the open, if we want our society to evolve.
